A Humanitarian Appeal for the People of Myanmar
A collaborative effort between Red Cross Humanitarian Network (RCHN), NTU Chapter and students from Myanmar

Dear Students,

On May 2, 2008, Cyclone Nargis hit Burma (Myanmar). The estimated death toll is around 102,000.

A natural disaster of cyclone Nargis’ magnitude would be a logistical and relief-nightmare for even the most developed of first world nation. The situation in Myanmar has become desperate as survivors face hunger, lack of drinking water, diseases, poor sanitation, and no shelter.

As this tragedy unfolds right before our eyes, we appeal to your generosity to help the Burmese people. Please help us make a difference by offering monetary donations which will be handed over to the Singapore Red Cross for deployment to the victims.

Dates: 21 and 22 May 2008 (Wed & Thur)
Venue: NTU Canteen A (new Canteen) and Canteen B
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Singapore Red Cross has access into Myanmar with relief aid for the victims. For more information please visit @ https://webmail.ntu.edu.sg/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.redcross.org.sg/
